Love Lessons Begin: GMMTV's ‘Boys in Love’ Trailer Teases Sweet School Romance for April 2025

GMMTV has unveiled the official trailer for its upcoming Thai BL series, Boys in Love, igniting excitement among fans of the genre. Set to premiere in April 20, 2025 on GMM 25 and iQIYI, this high school romantic comedy introduces a fresh ensemble of young talent, promising a heartfelt exploration of teenage love and self-discovery.

A Fresh Take on High School Romance

‘Boys in Love‘ centers around Shane, a diligent and academically driven student, portrayed by Mick Metas Opas-iamkajorn. Shane’s structured life takes an unexpected turn when he’s assigned to tutor Kit, a charismatic and carefree classmate played by Luke Peemsan Sotangkur. As their tutoring sessions progress, the lines between teacher and student blur, leading to an unexpected romantic connection.

Parallel to Shane and Kit’s story, the series follows Kim, Shane’s close friend, who is disheartened by love until he meets Mon, a spirited transfer student. Chokun Puttipong Jitbut brings depth to the role of Kim, while Aston Ratiphat Luengvoraphan infuses Mon with charm and vivacity. Their budding relationship adds another layer to the series’ exploration of young love.

Introducing the Next Generation of BL Stars

The casting of Boys in Love marks a significant moment for GMMTV, as it showcases a lineup predominantly composed of emerging actors. Mick Metas, making his BL debut, is the younger brother of renowned actor Win Metawin. Despite joining GMMTV in 2021, Mick prioritized his education, including a year-long exchange program in Canada, before stepping into the spotlight. His previous roles include appearances in Good Old Days (2022) and Beauty Newbie (2024), where he portrayed the younger version of his brother’s character.

Luke Peemsan, another newcomer, gained attention with his role in Summer Night (2024) and is set to appear in Revamp: The Undead Story (2025). The pairing of Mick and Luke has already garnered positive reactions, with fans eager to see their on-screen chemistry.

Adding to the ensemble are Paul Tanan as Tar, Ken Kanthee as the lively Per, and seasoned actors Papang Phromphiriya and Podd Suphakorn, who portray teachers Tan and Nat, respectively. Their inclusion brings a blend of experience and fresh energy to the series.

Behind the Scenes: A Promising Creative Team

Directed by Waa Waasuthep, known for his work on Be My Favorite, Boys in Love benefits from a director adept at balancing humor and emotional depth. The screenplay, penned by Suwanun Pohgudsai (PingPong), weaves together multiple narratives that reflect the complexities of teenage relationships.

The series was first introduced during GMMTV’s “Riding the Wave” event in November 2024, where its trailer stood out for its vibrant portrayal of youthful romance and the promise of authentic storytelling.

Anticipation Builds Ahead of Premiere

With its focus on relatable high school experiences and the nuances of first love, Boys in Love is poised to resonate with a wide audience. The decision to cast new faces in leading roles reflects GMMTV’s commitment to nurturing emerging talent and offering fresh perspectives within the BL genre.
