The Philippines’ pioneering BL dating show, ‘Sparks Camp,’ returns for another season, introducing a fresh batch of charming queer individuals seeking love.

‘Sparks Camp’ will feature eight single queer participants who will engage in mini-games and compete for dates, ultimately hoping to find a mutual connection.

On Wednesday, June 12, Black Sheep, the series producer, unveiled the eight new campers on social media, sparking excitement among BL fans.

The first season faced criticism for its lack of diversity, but the production team has addressed these concerns by casting queer individuals of various body types and backgrounds for the second season.

“Sparks Camp” is helmed by the acclaimed director and story editor Theodore Boborol and penned by Patrick Valencia, renowned for his queer-centric works such as “Hanging Out,” “The Third Party,” and the “Hello Stranger” BL series. The show was also co-written by Daniel Saniana, known for his work on “Sila Sila.” The series is hosted by LGBTQIA+ icon and trans activist Mela Habijan, who plays the role of the campers’ “Mother Sparker.” Mela is celebrated for her digital show “3Some,” her TikTok series “Mahalagang MELAman Mo,” and her YouTube content “All Things T.”
